Covid-19

We hope you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We take extreme pride in the fact that we have always followed very strict guidelines and hold our office to incredibly high standards when it comes to cleanliness and sterilization. We are continuing to do so, but have made some minor changes to ensure the safety of our patients and dental team. We have a detailed written plan in place, but here are some highlights…

➢ We have purchased additional equipment to help reduce aerosols and clean the air.

➢ All team members will have their temperatures checked upon arriving to work each morning. If anyone has an elevated temperature, they will be sent home.

➢ Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive in the office.

* If you have health concerns or answer yes to these questions, we may reschedule your appointment to a later date

➢ Upon arrival to your appointment, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer and we will take your temperature.

* If your temperature is elevated, we will reschedule your appointment.

➢ We ask that you come to your appointment alone, unless you need someone for transportation or you are a minor.

➢ You are more than welcome to come and wait in our waiting area, however if you do not feel comfortable, you may call when you arrive and use your car as a waiting room.

➢ Team members may be wearing a face mask more frequently, but please know we are always smiling behind them and are happy to see you.

➢ Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

➢ Clinical providers will be wearing additional personal protective equipment (PPE). Therefore, the office may be kept at a cooler temperature – Please bring your own blanket if you get cold easily.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient, safe in our office. Please call us at (517) 487-6333 if you have any questions or need to make an appointment. Our dental team will return to the office on Tuesday, May 26. We plan to reopen for patient appointments on Monday, June 1. We ask for your patience as our team will be working very hard to reschedule a large number of appointments. We have already started making calls to get you all rescheduled, but the process will take some time. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Best Wishes,

Dr. Holly Scott-Hetchler and Team
